The Melanated Mahjong Society is a community-powered space where connection, culture, and service come together. We gather not just to play the game we love, but to uplift one another and give back to the communities we call home. Through fellowship, volunteerism, and meaningful engagement, we turn every game night into an opportunity to build stronger bonds and create real impact.

Playing mahjong is more than a game, it’s an experience that sparks connection, challenges the mind, and brings people together. The tiles invite strategy, focus, and friendly competition, but it’s the conversations, laughter, and shared moments around the table that make the game truly special. In every shuffle and every hand, the game becomes a bridge that unites people across backgrounds, generations, and stories.
SERVICE COMMITMENT
At the heart of the MMS is a commitment to community and collective care. Each MMS chapter pledges at least 4 hours of community service per quarter, turning our gatherings into meaningful opportunities to give back. Whether through volunteer events, neighborhood support, or service partnerships, we show up for the communities that shape and sustain us.
